Senior Assembly Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Assembly Engineer to join our growing engineering and manufacturing team. This role is responsible for the assembly, integration, and testing of advanced pharmaceutical processing systems, ensuring compliance with stringent industry and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise in mechanical and electromechanical assembly, coupled with problem-solving skills and the ability to guide junior team members.

Key Responsibilities

  •    Assemble, fit, and integrate complex systems including Hot Melt Extrusion units, isolators, and continuous processing equipment.
  •    Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical schematics, and assembly documentation.
  •    Ensure high standards of precision and quality during assembly to meet GMP, FDA, and international compliance requirements.
  •    Conduct system-level testing, troubleshooting, and validation of assembled equipment.
  •    Collaborate closely with design, manufacturing, automation, and quality teams to resolve technical challenges.
  •    Support the development of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and assembly guidelines.
  •    Provide technical input during design reviews to enhance assembly efficiency and manufacturability.
  •    Mentor and support junior assembly engineers and technicians.
  •    Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in assembly methods, tooling, and processes.
  • Maintain strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations

Qualifications & Experience

  •    Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related discipline (or equivalent experience).
  •    2+ years of experience in assembly, installation, or commissioning of complex process equipment, preferably in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or chemical industries.
  •    Strong technical knowledge of mechanical assembly, electromechanical systems, and process equipment integration.
  •    Familiarity with GMP, FDA, and ISO quality standards.
  •    Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  •    Hands-on problem-solving skills and ability to work under tight deadlines.
  •    Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  •    Experience mentoring junior engineers/technicians is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for site installations and customer support.
